Program Benefits

The Graduate Certificate in Integrative Lands Management prepares students to lead and collaborate across diverse land ownerships and management systems. This certificate is designed for professionals and graduate students seeking to lead land management organizations and deepen their understanding of integrated public lands management for public, private, and tribal conservation lands. Students will engage with real-world projects and partnerships through their coursework and projects, gaining practical experience in collaborative conservation, policy, and adaptive management. The certificate can be completed in one year and is stackable with the MEM degree.

Admission Requirements

Admission Overview

Applications will be holistically reviewed by certificate faculty to ensure appropriate placement and student success based on past achievement and potential. Entry into the program will mirror the Master of Environmental Management admissions process with both fall and spring semester entry possible. A baccalaureate degree in environmental science, natural resource management, or a related field from an accredited college or university, with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or appropriate work experience and background required. The application process is conducted online and requires the following materials:

  • Submit official or unofficial transcripts from a regionally accredited university. Unofficial transcripts may be uploaded to expedite application review; however, official undergraduate transcripts are required for full admission.
Professional Resume
  • Should highlight relevant work experience and showcase potential for positions related to the certificate being pursued.
Statement of Purpose
  • One-page statement of professional intentions, outlining relevant goals and experiences.
