Child Development Minor

Program Overview

The Child Development Minor features curated interdisciplinary coursework designed for students who want to enter career fields in education, early childhood, juvenile services, child welfare, recreation and outdoor education, social work, mental health, or coaching. Students will gain comprehensive insight into the issues and impacts of child development, as well as knowledge in developmental trauma and skills in intervention. Required coursework includes both online and in-person learning opportunities, where students will dive into child development theories and hone practical skills that can be applied in a variety of career fields.

A minimum of 18 credits is required, including:
